The Great Kazoodles Envelope Experiment!
Four Colors. Mystery Prizes. Questionable Outcomes.
We're trying something new at Kazoodles this November, and we're calling it the Great Envelope Experiment.
Here's the idea: We've filled a bunch of colorful envelopes with prizes, gift cards, opportunities to make questionable decisions on our behalf, and some things that are frankly difficult to categorize.
Some of the prizes are pretty great. There's a $100 shopping spree in there somewhere. Some are just plain silly. You might walk away with a new toy, or you might become our Employee of the Minute.
We're excited about both possibilities.
And because we want everyone to be able to join in, it's completely free. No purchase necessary.
Here's How It Works
Every Friday and Saturday in November, we'll have four different colors of mystery envelopes available at Kazoodles.
You get to choose your color, pick an envelope, and open it with one of our staff members to see what you've won.
Each color has its own personality, so you have some idea of what you're getting into. Beyond that, it's a mystery.
One envelope per person, per weekend. You're welcome to come back the following weekend and try again.
When?
November 6 & 7
November 13 & 14
November 20 & 21
November 27 & 28
We'll start each day with 30 envelopes, but that doesn't necessarily mean we're stopping at 30. Some envelopes can be replenished throughout the day, while others are limited.
The Four Colors
🔵 Blue — Actual Prizes
These are the envelopes for people who like winning things they can actually use.
We've got toys, mystery fidgets, stickers, puzzles, greeting cards, grab bags, and gift cards. There are a few discounts in the mix, too.
Nothing terribly complicated here. You open an envelope, you win something, and you go home with it.
Blue envelopes can be replenished throughout the day with additional small prizes like stickers, greeting cards, and toy surprises. The gift cards and other limited prizes won't necessarily be part of those refills.
🟣 Purple — Power & Privileges
We've decided to let customers make some decisions around here.
Depending on your envelope, you could help design a coloring contest, come up with a Crafternoon theme, create a bookmark, or choose one of our weekly opinion questions.
There's also an opportunity to review a toy with Ike for one of our social media videos.
Some of these prizes will take a little coordination, so we'll work with winners to schedule them.
And yes, we reserve the right to veto ideas that require construction permits.
Only two Purple envelopes are available each day. These won't be replenished.
🟡 Yellow — Absolute Nonsense
This category might be my favorite.
Yellow envelopes are full of honors and achievements that nobody asked for.
You could be named Employee of the Minute, promoted to Assistant to the Regional Manager, awarded a tiny trophy, or presented with one of our Certificates of Questionable Distinction.
You might receive a dramatic compliment from a staff member. You might get to name an imaginary dust bunny. You could even find yourself inducted into our Nonsense Hall of Fame.
We're going to take all of these honors very seriously for approximately as long as it takes to hand them out.
Yellow envelopes can also be replenished throughout the day. We have plenty of certificates, ridiculous titles, and compliments to go around. Some of the more elaborate honors and physical prizes will still be limited.
🔴 Red — Wild Cards
Red is where we've hidden some of the bigger surprises.
There's a $100 Kazoodles shopping spree, a Balloon Bonanza, Creator Station VIP experiences, mystery gift cards, and a few other things we're not going to explain in advance.
You might receive Red Carpet Treatment. You might get an envelope containing another envelope.
We had fun putting this category together.
There are only three Red envelopes available each day. Once they're gone, they're gone until the next Friday or Saturday.
What Are Replenishable Envelopes?
We know 30 envelopes might not last very long, especially on a busy Saturday. And we don't want someone to make a special trip only to discover that all the fun happened before they arrived.
So we're doing something a little different.
Every morning, we'll start with:
-
16 Blue envelopes — Actual Prizes
-
2 Purple envelopes — Power & Privileges
-
9 Yellow envelopes — Absolute Nonsense
-
3 Red envelopes — Wild Cards
As Blue and Yellow envelopes are picked, we'll be able to replace some of them with additional envelopes containing prizes that are easy for us to repeat.
That might mean another sticker pack, a small toy surprise, a dramatic compliment, or a Certificate of Questionable Distinction.
The important distinction is that not every prize is replenishable. Gift cards, larger prizes, special experiences, and certain physical awards are limited. Just because Blue or Yellow envelopes are still available doesn't mean every original prize in those categories is still in the mix.
Purple and Red envelopes won't be replenished during the day.
This way, there's still a little excitement around the limited prizes, but hopefully more people get to participate.
All envelopes are available while supplies last.
A Few Questions You Might Have
Do I have to buy something?
Nope. It's free. You can come in, pick an envelope, and leave with your prize without buying a thing.
Can everyone in my family pick one?
Yes. It's one envelope per person, per weekend. Children are welcome to participate, with parent or guardian help when needed.
Can I come back the next day and get another?
Not the same weekend. But come back the following Friday or Saturday and you can participate again.
Can I pick a different envelope if I don't like my prize?
Nope. That's part of the experiment. Once you've opened your envelope, that's your prize.
What if I win something that needs to happen later?
We'll coordinate with you. Things like creating a bookmark, help
